NeuroFun, the Lab of Functional Neuroanatomy, was founded in 1990 at the Universitat de València by Fernando Martínez-García. Since then we work hard to understand the brain and its function by analysing the brain and behaviour of different animals.  From 2014 the lab split because Fernando Martinez-Moved to the Universitat Jaume I (UJI) of Castellón. Thus, nowadays NeuroFun is composed of a group at UJI and another one at UV, with partners at Universidad de Castilla La Mancha (Ciudad Real), Universität Regensburg (Germany) and the Champalimaud Center for the Unknown (Lisbon, Portugal).

NeuroFun is part of the Prometheus Programme for Research Groups of Excellence of the Valencian Government (Generalitat Valenciana). NeuroFun has several research lines devoted to the analysis of the neural basis of social and emotional behaviours, which in rodents are mediated by pheromones. We also study the brain and behaviour of animal models of neurological and psychiatric diseases.

As a university lab our compromise is to generate knowledge and to transmit this knowledge through papers and books, as well as by different kinds of teaching and dissemination activities. In case you want us to help you in teaching or in dissemination of neuroscience culture, do not hesitate to contact us.
